Major Technical Milestones

v4.2 | 2026 Q1

The Autonomous Infrastructure Update

v4.2 introduces the Autonomous Fleet Manager, allowing clusters to self-balance and self-patch based on real-time telemetry from the VayuCloud network.

  • Atomic Live-Patching: Apply security updates and kernel bug fixes to a running system without a reboot.
  • Predictive Security: Neural engine identifies potential zero-day patterns and proactively hardens the kernel.
  • Multi-Tenancy Hardening: New hardware-level memory isolation for Micro-VMs.
v4.1 | 2025 Q3

The Silicon Speed Update

Focusing on direct hardware integration, v4.1 unlocked the full potential of NVMe mesh networking and near-native virtualization.

  • SDSN v2: Software-Defined Silicon Networking now supports line-rate 800Gbps encryption.
  • Rust-Hardened Core: 80% of the I/O subsystem migrated to memory-safe Rust paths.
  • GPU-Direct Enclaves: Isolated memory spaces for high-performance AI training.
v4.0 | 2025 Q1

The Foundation Update

The official launch of the 4.x series, introducing the micro-core architecture and the Atomic Data Fabric.

  • Micro-Core Architecture: Replaced the monolithic kernel with a stateless, modular micro-core.
  • Atomic Data Fabric: Exabyte-scale distributed storage with sub-microsecond consensus.
  • VayuRegistry: Universal system state management with transactional rollback.

Zero-Downtime Pipeline

Traditional updates are risky and time-consuming. VayuOS uses an Immutable A/B Image Model. The active system is never modified; updates are applied to a background partition and verified using Cryptographic Heartbeats before an atomic switch occurs.
